Barbarian is a hero class in Diablo 4. Average killing machines, these fighters want to rush into the thick of the fray, showing their melee prowess to see the enemy taken down. Here's our Diablo 4 Barbarian leveling guide to help you pick the best skills for your campaign. You can also buy Diablo IV gold for Barbarian Leveling.

Diablo 4 Barbarian Leveling Build for Beta
The Diablo 4 Barbarian leveling build focuses primarily on area of effect (AoE) attacks due to enemy troops and extra survivability. What's more, since we're still in the beta stage of the game, characters are capped at level 25. For a more detailed explanation of each skill, see our Barbarian overviews of Active Skills, Talents/Passives, and Expertise/Arsenal Weapon Swap.

Using Ground Stomp to stun fun never gets old.
Using Ground Stomp to stun fun never gets old.
Base: Flay (Battle) - You probably won't get much out of the bleed mechanic in the early game. However, the Enhanced version ensures that you can debuff enemies with vulnerabilities, so they temporarily deal more damage. This is further improved if you use a two-handed weapon when activating Flay.

Core: Whirlwind (Violent) – Whirlwind is ideal for a Diablo 4 Barbarian leveling build as it is an AoE attack that can be sustained for a long time. Besides, who doesn't want to spin a barbarian while punching his enemies?

Defensive: Ground Stomp (Tactical or Strategic) - Ground Stomp is an extremely useful skill as it stuns or knocks enemies down and generates additional rage to boot. You can use Tactical (ie rage generation) until you unlock your Ultimate, at which point you can switch to Strategic (ie Ultimate cooldown reduction).

Defensive: Challenging Shout (Tactical) - Yes, we will have some defensive abilities for our Diablo 4 Barbarian leveling build. Challenging Shout's taunt is pretty moot if you're soloing, but the damage reduction is great.

Brawling: War Cry (Power) – This is another cry that increases DPS.

Weapon Mastery: Deathblow (Fighter's or Warrior's) - Deathblow is a powerful ability that deals a lot of damage. If you manage to kill an opponent with it, the cooldown is reset.

Ultimate: Call of the Ancients (Prime and Supreme) - There are only six skill slots to choose from and you must discard one skill to assign your ultimate. If you no longer need it, you can drop the Challenging Shout.

Assiv: Booming Voice (Brawling) - Given how often you'll be using shouts to survive, it's essential to have a passive that further increases the duration.

Weapon Mastery: One Handed Maces, Two Handed Axes, and Two Handed Maces - To be fair, trying to focus on a specific weapon mastery while leveling the barbarian is going to be a difficult task. This is because you often pick up new and better gear that may not be your preferred weapon types. That said, you can't go wrong with the following:

One Handed Maces - Increased damage against stunned enemies (ie Ground Stomp).
Two-Handed Ax - Increased damage against vulnerable enemies (ie Flay).
Two-Handed Maces - Extra rage generation when hitting enemies; Rank 10 deals bonus critical strike damage against stunned and vulnerable enemies (ie Flay and Ground Stomp).
